Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 October 2026

Who we are

Asili connects families with vetted local sports trainers for private and small-group sessions. This policy explains what personal information we collect through asili.ca, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the profile picture those services share.
  • Your child's details: first name, birth year, sport background and goals that you enter as a parent. Children do not create their own accounts.
  • Trainer profiles: the sports, specialties, certifications, availability, location and rates a trainer chooses to publish, plus confirmation of a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Bookings and messages: session dates and times, booking status, and messages sent between a parent and a trainer about a booking.
  • Reviews and feedback: ratings and reviews parents write, and session feedback trainers write for parents.
  • Payments: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of a payment and its amount; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical data: the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use it

  • To create and secure your account and sign you in.
  • To show trainer profiles, book sessions, take payment and process refunds.
  • To let parents and trainers message each other about a booking.
  • To suggest age-appropriate training content based on your child's stage of development.
  • To send emails about your account and bookings, such as sign-in links and booking updates.
  • To keep the platform safe, including reviewing trainers before they appear and moderating reviews.

Children's information

Only a parent or guardian can add a child to Asili, and we collect only what a trainer needs to run a session. We never ask for or show a photo of a child; children appear as illustrated avatars. A child's details are visible to you and to a trainer you book with, and to no one else. You can delete them at any time.

Google user data

If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use this information only to create your Asili account and sign you in. We do not use it for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it with anyone except the service providers listed below that help us run sign-in. Asili's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only:

  • between a parent and the trainer they book with, as needed for the session;
  • with service providers who run parts of Asili for us: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payments), Google and Apple (sign-in, if you choose them) and our email delivery provider;
  • when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account we erase your profile, your children's details and your messages. We keep payment and booking records only as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can see and correct your information in the app, and parents can delete their account from the Account page. You can also ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent by emailing privacy@asili.ca. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit, and access to it is limited by database rules so that each person can reach only their own records and the bookings they are part of.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. Questions go to privacy@asili.ca.
