Terms of Service

Who we are and these terms

Asili connects families with vetted local sports trainers for private and small-group sessions. By creating an account or using asili.ca you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Asili.

Accounts

  • You must be an adult in your province or territory to create an account. Children do not have accounts; a parent or guardian adds a child and books for them.
  • You can sign in with an email link, or with Google or Apple where we offer it. Keep your sign-in methods secure and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

What Asili is

Asili is a marketplace. Trainers are independent professionals, not employees or agents of Asili, and each trainer is responsible for the sessions they run. Asili provides the platform where parents find trainers, book and pay for sessions, and message about a booking. We do not run training sessions ourselves.

Trainers

A trainer who joins Asili agrees to:

  • confirm that they hold a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check, and give us the documents so an Asili administrator can verify them before their profile appears;
  • keep their profile, availability and rates accurate;
  • run each accepted session safely and professionally;
  • handle their own taxes and any insurance or licences their work needs.

We may decline, hide or remove a trainer's profile, or stop new bookings with them, if a check lapses or is flagged, or if we have a safety or conduct concern.

Bookings and payments

  • A parent holds a time with a trainer and pays at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • A paid booking is a request until the trainer accepts it. If the trainer declines, the parent gets a full refund.
  • Trainers set their own session prices. Asili charges the trainer a service fee on each completed session, as stated when they sign up. Parents do not pay a separate fee.
  • Cancellations and refunds follow the terms shown when you book. Where a refund is due, it goes back to the original payment method.

Behaviour on Asili

  • Be respectful in messages and reviews. No harassment, hate speech or threats.
  • Write reviews and feedback honestly, and only about sessions that took place.
  • Do not use Asili to contact a child directly or to arrange sessions outside the platform in a way that avoids its safety checks.
  • Do not misuse the platform, scrape it, or try to get at another person's account or data.

Reviews and messages

Reviews are moderated before they are shown. You keep ownership of what you write, and you give Asili permission to display it on the platform. Messages are for a booking between its parent and trainer. We may review messages where needed to keep people safe or to enforce these terms.

Safety and liability

Sport carries a risk of injury. A parent is responsible for deciding whether their child is fit to take part, and for telling the trainer about anything relevant. We check trainers as described above, but we do not supervise sessions. To the fullest extent the law allows, Asili is not liable for a trainer's acts or for injury or loss that arises during a session. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

Ending your account

You can stop using Asili and delete your account at any time from the Account page. What happens to your information is described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts someone at risk.

Changes, governing law and contact

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Questions go to legal@asili.ca.
